Terms and Conditions

1. Your Success

When booking their first tuition session, parents must confirm that they have read and agree to all terms before the booking can be completed.

2. Contact Information:

Email: miranda@yoursuccess.education

3. Payment Details:

  • Payment is due upon receipt of a payment link and prior to the next session.

  • One-to-one lessons are paid for in a block, not for a time period. Lesson bought in a block can therefore be taken at any time and the number of lessons received will always be the same as the number of lessons for which payment has been taken.

4. Cancellation Policy:

  • One-to-One Sessions: Miranda will make every reasonable effort to reschedule a session for that week if a session needs to be cancelled by either the student or tutor. There is no penalty fee for cancellations, however every effort should be made to give as much notice as possible.

  • Group Sessions (block purchase): A full refund is provided if cancellation is made before the start of the course. If there is a cancellation after the sessions have begun, a refund will be award for the sessions that have not yet taken place, minus a £5 processing fee.

  • Group Sessions (weekly subscriptions): No refund is given for sessions which have already taken place. You can cancel your subscription any time by emailing Miranda at miranda@yoursuccess.education and requesting a cancellation, no questions asked.

  • Contacting Miranda:

  • Parents/carers are welcome to contact Miranda via email or text message at any time. Parents/carers and students can follow Miranda on her social media pages linked to Your Success.

5. Tuition:

  • For one-to-one sessions at the student's home, an adult must be present in the building at all times. For safeguarding reasons, for students under 18, it is expected that an adult will remain in the house with them for the duration of their online lesson, whether group or one-to-one.

  • For online sessions, students can choose if they wish to have their camera on or off.

  • As much as possible, students should be sat at a desk or table during lessons.

  • Online group sessions will be recorded for safeguarding and for student review. Recordings will be stored in a shared Google Drive folder for all students within the group.

  • Students are not permitted to share or save these recordings.

  • After the course ends, videos will be stored in a secure folder for 20 years and will only be accessed if requested for a child protection case.

  • One of the main aims of the group programmes is to foster a safe and supportive learning environment. Students must be respectful to each other at all times and use appropriate language. Miranda reserves the right to refuse to teach students with unacceptable behaviour.

5. Safeguarding:

  • Miranda and any employed tutors will maintain up-to-date DBS checks and receive annual safeguarding training. Any concerns about a student’s well-being or safety will be immediately addressed in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidelines from DfE - link.

6. Holiday Timings:

  • Some group programmes will run over the holidays and some will pause over the holidays (e.g., a 12-week programme with a one-week break for a holiday will end 13 weeks after the start date). Details will be outlined prior to taking payment.

  • For one-to-one lessons, whether sessions take place over the school holidays or not will be mutually agreed.

7. Termination of Lessons:

  • For one-to-one sessions, either the parent or Miranda can terminate lessons with one week's notice and at the end of a block of payments.

  • All delivered lessons must be paid in full prior to the final session.

  • Terms and conditions for terminating midway through a group programme will vary depending on the programme and will be explicitly communicated before payment is accepted.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Reaching a particular grade cannot be guaranteed.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Miranda accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from the use of the tutor’s services or any errors or omissions in the contents of the tutor’s learning materials.

9. GDPR Statement

  • Your personal data will be held in a password-encrypted file stored on a password-protected account.

  • Names of students and parent/guardian if applicable, age or school year group of the student, address, phone numbers, and email addresses of parent/guardian, anything else mutually considered relevant to private tuition.

  • Email addresses and phone numbers are also stored in email and phone contacts.

  • Your personal information will not be passed to any third parties without your explicit consent unless there is a legal requirement for it to be disclosed.

  • Financial data will be retained for seven years for tax reasons.

  • When the information is destroyed, all papers will be shredded to protect the client’s identity and any data held in computer files will be either anonymised or permanently deleted.

10. Additional Policies
